Note it’s natural you may want a quote for your Excel work. But advanced Excel work is often an evolving, iterative process with unknowable aspects until you start doing it.
For smaller jobs and I have enough information, I may be able to give a fixed price or at least a reliable estimate.
On more complex jobs, it’s not easy to give a fixed price unless I work with the detail and your actual data for some time. In these cases you would naturally be worried about open-ended cost. So sometimes the best way forward to satisfy the client and myself, is I spend an agreed amount of paid time to scope and even create a prototype or mock-up of the spreadsheet solution. I can then report back with a much more reliable estimate or fixed price with contingencies for completion and the client can decide to proceed or stop the work right there.
When doing any job I will report back to you on hours spent regularly and professionally and especially any unexpected hitches. Large jobs have a project plan stepped out which I will provide.
A brief initial consultation over Zoom or MS Teams or even over the phone is great way to explore your needs to get the ball rolling. These days I don’t do face to face meetings very often, as I find video conferencing is more effective for spreadsheet work.
